Recon’s yearly requirements: Pass your physical fitness test (in May) and keep your skill level up with your team members.

IF a Recon member has 3yrs in Recon he can go in Recon active reserve.

Why is there a high bar for recon? It was set in place by GEN Alexander who was himself a Navy Seal. Recon members are not only required to keep on honing their skills but be able to teach their skills to others. In order to do this GEN Alexander knew that it will take men that are a cut above the rest. Because in any team their skill level will be at the weakest man’s level. That is why all the men must be dedicated and committed to training and be the best that they can be.
