An ODF member must pass three requirements. When the member passes the three requirements, they will be able to sew on the the PATHFINDER tab over the American flag and the rifle patch on their blouse pocket. (Anyone that can pass the rifle qualifications can wear the patch)
The requirements are as follows:
1) Rifle Qualifications
2) Land Navigation
3) Leadership
Rifle Qualification:
1) At 100 candidate must hit 8 out of 10 shots, (standing) on a 12′ x 12″ target.
2) Candidate can pick 3 out of 4 tests and pass them at 50 yds.
A. From a patrolling (standing) using a beeper sight, hit 2 out of 3 times on a 12″ x 12″ target in under 1.8 seconds.
B. Candidate from behind a barricade, take a knee, roll out and hit a 12″ x 12″ target 2 out of 3 times in under 3 seconds.
C. Candidate from standing to kneeling, hit a 12″ x 12″ target 2 out of 3 times in under 2.3 seconds.
D. Candidate from standing hit 2, 12″ x 12″ targets that are 7 yds apart in under 2.5 seconds.
Land Navigation:
Candidate must find 5 different points that are 200 to 400 yds apart and get all the correct information at each way point. In a specified time limit.
Leadership:
Candidate must take a 4 man team and complete a warning order mission, reconnaissance, security patrol, ambush, patrol base and snatch and grab.
